I want to thank Greg at Artdrum.com for helping us find the perfect second gong for our expanding office space.

Around two years ago, we purchased the beautiful 27" Wuhan Chau gong pictured below from Artdrum.com to use for celebrating company achievements.  We were much smaller then, so a single gong was sufficient to call everyone from their desks and conference rooms to hear about a new customer signing up or launching with one of our solutions, the release of an exciting new product feature, a new employee joining the team, or an important milestone in Bazaarvoice's growth.  The gong quickly became a central component of our company culture, as the entire Bazaarvoice team would gather around the gong to hear the latest news.

Our Original 27

When we moved into our current office, we quickly discovered that one gong simply wasn't enough.  One wing of the office (the one I work in!) couldn't hear the gong, so we often missed out on company announcements or arrived just in time to hear applause, leading to many "What did we just gong about?" questions.  So we decided to invest in a second gong!  Again with Greg's help, we purchased the earth-shattering 36" gong pictured below.  You can't read the text but the framed print on the wall contains our very official "Rules of the Gong".  While I'd love to share these, they are a company secret.

Our New 36

Many companies use bells for similar purposes, but we highly recommend the gong for its majestic appearance and sound, not to mention its uniqueness.  And because we're such big believers in customer word of mouth, we highly recommend Artdrum.com for all of your gong needs.

Just ask for Greg and tell him that Bazaarvoice sent you!

  1. Inspired by this blog post, I just bought a 26 inch gong and stand (wuhan of course) and plan to chuck out our bell. I am looking forward to buying our 36 incher in a couple of years too…

Congrats Bazaarvoice – your products are changing the web…

  3. Good day Jon,
I saw your blog tonight. I’m the owner of Artdrum.com, the store where Bazaarvoice gets their gongs. I have 40″ Chau gongs; 40″ Wind gongs; and Paiste gongs that are 38″ and larger. They’re all amazing instruments.

If you have any questions, or if I can be of any help, feel free to contact me.

    Thanks & best regards,
